Mind Magic

Your words have power. Author of Mind Magic, Yvonne Oswald provides wonderful and transformative exercises. Listen to her uplifting and power packed interview on itunes. (conversations to enlighten and heal -K G Stiles)

Enter your Alpha State and be guided through an anchoring exercise to switch you into more positive experiences. This exercise can be found in the interview as well as on her website.

She discusses great law of attraction tips too.

Summary
In this exercise, your learn how to anchor a positive state which I call your resourceful and generative state. Place the forefinger of the one hand on a knuckle of the other. Once the positive feeling is enhanced you release this anchor.

you then look down and access a feeling (word) you wish to release.

You then re-active the anchor.

Abstract:
Preparation:
Know how to go into the Alpha state, as in Mind Magic Three.

Mind Magic Three (Review)
As you sit comfortably, with your back straight, face forward with your chin slightly up and raise your eyes to ceiling level. Find a place where the ceiling meets the wall and simply stare at a spot. Now become aware of what’s to your right and what’s to your left, while keeping your eyes and head in the same place, aware of what’s in your peripheral vision. Become aware of the nice, relaxed feeling you get when you do this.

Eight Ways to Increase Your Positive Energy

I have found this powerful blog by Dr Judith Orloff, who is a psychiatrist and intuitive empath.

She offers an amazing amount of resources on meditation and yes, staying centred around others who "drain your energy".

Read her 8 ways to increase your positive energy. There are exercises that take only 3 minutes and you can centre and ground yourself in a busy day. she also offers 4 tips to be in the NOW. Follow the link to connect to free videos on these subjects and more.

Here is a sample from her site of the 4th tip to be in the NOW.
Tip #4. Repeat A Mantra
A mantra is a sacred word or phrase that can cue you to return to the Now. One translation is “that which protects one from negative energy.” In Tibetan Buddhism, a mantra is passed from teacher to student. It’s either recited inwardly or aloud, a way to focus during meditation or during chaos. So, in the chaos of your world a special mantra can retrieve you. It could be ohm or shalom for peace, the Beatles song “Let It Be.” Mine is “I am that I am that I am that I am...” Choose one that appears to you.

How to meditate

I found this wonderful article on "How to Meditate" by Joan Borysenko on her site.

This is an exerpt from her book "Minding the body, Mending the Mind".

The steps are as follows@
  1. Choose a quiet spot
  2. Sit in a comfortable and balanced position
  3. Close your Eyes
  4. Relax your muscles sequentially from head to foot
  5. Stay aware of your breathing
  6. Repeat your focus word silently synchronised to your breathing
  7. Don't worry how you are doing
  8. Repeat for 10-20 minutes daily
Suggestions for a focus word could be "clarity"
